Next 2 Native Awarded Community Impact Award
Next 2 Native founder and Wake Forest Founders Program alum Monique Lewis was recently awarded the Community Impact Award by the Carolinas Associated General Contractors (CAGC) for her work in reducing language-related safety risk on commercial construction sites.
Her company, Next 2 Native Inc., helps general contractors and subcontractors close the communication gap between English- and Spanish-speaking crews through its SiteSpeak™ program.
During her time in the Wake Forest Founders cohort, and with the encouragement of fellow cohort member Alejandro Morales of STOA, Monique developed the Language Safety Check. This free self-assessment tool helps construction companies uncover the language risk they may be carrying on their job sites and the safety and productivity costs attached to it.
